About Me

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Alexander Gornak (Gorbunov). I am a software engineer. I currently work at Picodata. Previously, I worked on search infrastructure at Tinkoff and Yandex. I am a student in the Faculty of Computer Science at HSE university and a graduate of AECS MSU where I wrote my first compiler.

Me.
Me

I have devoted a significant part of my life to the competitive programming community. I have coached students at T-Generation, SIS (LKSH), and at Moscow training camps for the national Olympiad. I created problems for rounds on Codeforces and coordinated the official school Olympiad Cognitive technologies. I also developed algolymp — a set of CLI tools for informatics teachers.

I like open source, system programming, algorithms, high-performance optimizations, GNU software and philosophy, Zig, Void Linux, RISC-V, and gorillas.

I don't like proprietary software, ads, any kind of spyware, greedy big tech companies, AI, overengineering, inefficient code, Python, NPM, and paid education.

On the homepage, you'll find my blog posts, projects and other random stuff. This site is statically generated using several bash scripts, hosted at SBC and uses Simple.css for styling. Feel free to contact me on Telegram or by email.
